Conference Location
| The University of Hamburg was founded on March 28, 1919 in a resolution passed by Hamburg's first democratically elected parliament. The six faculties of the University of Hamburg offer all the disciplines of a comprehensive university – from law, economics and social sciences to the humanities and cultural sciences, from the natural sciences and informatics to medicine. With close to 38,000 students, the University of Hamburg is one of the largest in Germany. The centre of the University is the campus – where ECREA 2010 will take place – in the heart of the city located between the Alster and the Grindel Quarter, not far from Dammtor station. The main building at the Campus is the Audimax, the shell-shaped building has an impressive foyer and its interior design was declared historical heritage. Registration and plenary sessions of ECREA 2010 will happen here. Section panels will be located in several buildings at the Campus with short ways to walk. The Grindel Quarter in which the Campus is located is a lively, which formerly was a centre of Jewish life in Hamburg. You can find many restaurants and bars around the Campus as well as cinemas, theatres and museums. |
